About the Series: Disciplines in Motion – Am I Doing This Right? Research Ethics in Historical/Cultural Studies

In the winter semester 2025/2026, the Faculty Center for Transdisciplinary Historical-Cultural Studies hosts the conversation series “Disciplines in Motion”, dedicated this year to the topic of research ethics in historical-cultural studies. The series brings together researchers from across disciplines to discuss the ethical frameworks, practical dilemmas, and everyday challenges that shape our work — from data collection and fieldwork to handling sensitive materials, publishing, and re-using research data.

Held monthly over lunch at Kolingasse, the sessions offer an informal setting to engage with invited experts, exchange experiences, and build connections among early career researchers and colleagues working in related fields in Vienna. The series is organised by Alisa Santikarn, Barbara Pavlek Löbl, and Hanna Worliczek on behalf of the Pre- and PostDoc Assistants of the Faculty Center.
