The 2026 Annual Meeting of the European Alliance for Asian Studies (EAAS) will take place at the University of Vienna on 22 and 23 October 2026. Hosted by the Department of South Asian, Tibetan and Buddhist Studies, the meeting brings together EAAS members for a series of discussions on the future of Area Studies, academic freedom and decolonization, knowledge sharing, and cultural heritage.

As part of the programme, Noémie Étienne and Alisa Santikarn will participate in the roundtable “Data and Knowledge Sharing, Cultural Heritage and Preservation” on Friday, 23 October, from 14:00 to 15:30. The discussion will bring together EAAS members and invited colleagues working on cultural heritage, preservation, data, and knowledge sharing.

The annual meeting will take place at the University of Vienna’s historic campus in the Alte Kapelle (Old Chapel).
