Gender and Queer Memory in Sub-Saharan Africa: Guest Lecture by Maeva Pimo

As part of the Museums, Exhibitions, and Conservation course led by Noémie Etienne at the Universität Wien, our doctoral student Maeva Dolores PIMO conducted a session exploring gender and queer memory in sub-Saharan Africa.

Over the course of 90 minutes, she engaged the students and course participants in a dynamic discussion, presenting insights from her ongoing research on archives related to gender and sexual minorities in the region. The session provided a valuable opportunity to share and reflect on the evolving narratives surrounding marginalized identities in historical and contemporary contexts.

Don’t miss out on the forthcoming guest lectures by Silas Edwards (Frankfurt), Heghnar Watenpaugh (Los Angeles), Adila Laïdi-Hanieh (Ramallah), Ruby Satele Asiata (Vienna), Wendy Shaw (Berlin), Renée Riedler (Vienna)!
