HERitage Book Club – Fifth Reading

Dear all,

After a refreshing summer break, the HERitage Book Club is back! Our team continues to dedicate time to reading, reflecting, and exchanging perspectives on heritage, museums, and cultural theory.

For our fifth session, we are turning to Françoise Vergès’ A Programme of Absolute Disorder: Decolonizing the Museum (2024), focusing on the introduction and Chapter 2, “The Museum, a Battleground.” The book invites critical reflections on institutional power, decolonial practices, and the transformative potential of museums — themes at the heart of our conversations.

We maintain an updated list of all readings for anyone interested in following along or discovering the texts that shape our discussions. Feel free to browse and dive into the readings yourself.
