Laura Bohnenblust at Festival Archipel 2026 in Geneva

This past weekend, our colleague Laura Bohnenblust took part in the 2026 edition of the Festival Archipel in Geneva, contributing both as a chair and curator within the program dedicated to sound art, research, and experimental music.

On Sunday, she chaired the roundtable “Building Futures Beyond Sonic Archives,” which brought together artists and researchers Maya Al Khaldi, Sarouna, Mazen Kerbaj, Mohamed Ali Ltaief and Lamin Fofana to reflect on collective memory, listening practices, and the role of sonic archives in shaping alternative narratives and futures. The discussion formed part of a broader program exploring “Resistance and Sound Archives,” in which participants examined how sound-based practices can activate shared histories and open new spaces for dialogue.

In addition, Laura curated a happening by Mohamed Ali Ltaief in conversation with Lamin Fofana, presented within the same festival framework. The event contributed to the ongoing exploration of voice, memory, and performative listening that characterised this year’s edition. Through performance and conversation, the program highlighted experimental approaches to sound as a medium for research, storytelling, and collective reflection.
