Now Open Access: Des objets aux personnes – Recentrer la conservation
We are pleased to share that the article “Des objets aux personnes – Recentrer la conservation” by Noémie Étienne, Maeva Pimo, and Ruby Satele Asiata is now available open access.
In this contribution, the authors propose a shift in perspective: from objects to people. Rethinking conservation through concrete experiences in Benin, Cameroon, and New Zealand, they argue for an understanding of conservation as situated knowledge shaped by local contexts, relationships, and lived practices.
By decentering dominant frameworks, the article highlights the plurality of conservation practices and the coexistence of different uses, values, and meanings across communities.
Originally published in 2024 in La Lettre de l’OCIM (pp. 84–95), the article can now be accessed freely online.
