In Vino Veritas – Welcoming the New Academic Year!

The Cultural Heritage Studies team began the new semester with a little excursion to Weinbau H. P. Göbel in Stammersdorf, hosted by Fridolin Göbel — a former student of Noémie Étienne who has turned his passion for winemaking into a thriving vineyard.

We were delighted to share this experience with colleagues from the Fakultätszentrum für transdisziplinäre historisch-kulturwissenschaftliche Studien (FakZen) — the institutional home of our chair — fostering exchange and dialogue across disciplines.

Beyond the guided tour, insights into sustainable winemaking, and a garden-sourced organic meal, the day also offered space for reflection and collaboration. We discussed shared values, exchanged ideas for the faculty, and each brought an object connected to our research — a creative way to get to know one another’s work more closely.

It was not just about good company and good wine, but about connecting as a community of researchers and educators.

Here’s to a year of curiosity, collaboration, and growth!
