New Blog Post: Fieldwork Reflections from Havana

We’re excited to share a new blog entry by our PhD candidate Mariama de Brito Henn, who recently returned from a three-week research trip to Cuba. As part of her doctoral work on Afro-Cuban religious practices, Mariama explored the vibrant presence of Regla de Ocha (Santería) across Havana’s museums, homes, and performance spaces.

In her post, Meeting Eleguá on the Way, she reflects on her encounters with the orisha Eleguá – the guardian of crossroads and openings – and shares insights into the material and performative dimensions of this living tradition.
